Michael Ramirez: Up a Certain Creek 7-6-25
From America's Premier Editorial Cartoonist
The spirit of 2025. -Michael
Editor’s Note: Michael’s favorite U.S. president is George Washington, with Ronald Reagan as the more modern runner-up. I find it fascinating to see how artists portray those subjects for whom they feel great affection or respect. Caricatures become gentler, larger-than-life figures become more relatable and sympathetic. Already the subject of many famous depictions, the George Washington of today’s cartoon looks like he could use a hug and a stiff drink; I wonder what any of our early founders would have thought of fighting so hard for independence, only for their descendants to beg for it to be offloaded.

Thank you for supporting Michael’s editorial cartooning and writing at this great independent space. And thank you, most of all, for standing up for free speech and truth, both of which are under attack everywhere.
We’ll see you soon with more of Michael’s work, and as always, let us know what you think in the comments, or drop us a line at ramireztoons@gmail.com
As you can imagine, we receive many emails, and Michael reads everything you send with one exception: I regret that I cannot share your cartoon ideas. As an editorial artist, every original cartoon he publishes must spring from within his mind, though I will happily forward your good wishes, complaints, concerns about issues, or opinions about politicians who seem to make a mess of everything. Michael tries to keep his finger on the pulse of America, so what’s on your mind? What can we do better? Let us know in the comments or by emailing the editor, Bree Lindquist, at breelinguist@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you and will do our best to respond soon.
Best,
Melissa Praemonitus (personal manager for Michael P. Ramirez)
