Michael Ramirez: The Nuclear Watchdog 02-18-26
From America's Premier Editorial Cartoonist
The IAEA is an agency without teeth. -m
FROM THE DESK OF MICHAEL RAMIREZ:
A NUCLEAR IRAN IS A THREAT TO THE WORLD
A nuclear Iran is troubling for a huge variety of reasons. If you can imagine a more troublesome North Korea, exporting terror, missiles, arms, and chaos with a GDP that is almost 15 times larger… now add fanatics willing to die for their extremist views…, that is a NUCLEAR IRAN.
A nuclear Iran will also start a nuclear arms race in a region with tons of money but very little value of human life, with surrogates of terror that believe dying in the name of evil deeds will deliver them to paradise.
Iran must be prevented from attaining nuclear power. It is difficult enough to contain the fissionable material produced by the 9 nuclear nations that already exist – The United States, Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea. Those nations comply because of the threat of the MAD doctrine, which originated during the Cold War.
MAD, or Mutually Assured Destruction, is not a deterrent to those who seek death.
If Iran has nuclear weapons, then Saudi Arabia will have nuclear weapons, and the domino effect picks up from there. Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt have already publicly stated they will quickly follow suit.
As a tool to police and contain nuclear proliferation, the IAEA is only as effective as the country it is investigating allows. A watchdog with its teeth (dentures) in a glass sitting atop a stool next to it seemed like the perfect metaphor.
The Islamic State government is hostile, belligerent and, as I stated before, its chief exports are terrorism, money, arms and chaos.
However, the average age of Iran’s population is 35. Most Iranians today were born AFTER the Iranian Revolution. The majority are largely pro-western but oppressed by the theocratic dictatorship. Supporting the protestors now may hasten the departure of the current oppressive regime and help end the illegal pursuit of nuclear weapons.
If the world is serious about preventing Iran from acquiring nukes- and the dangerous consequences that follow, that time is running out. They should act NOW.
Best wishes,
-m

Thank you for supporting my editorial cartooning and writing at this great independent space. And thank you, most of all, for standing up for free speech and truth, both of which are under attack everywhere.
We’ll see you soon with more of my work, and as always, let me know what you think in the comments, or drop me a line at ramireztoons@gmail.com
As you can imagine, I receive many emails, many which dictate things that are physically impossible to do with and to human physiology. I will try to read everything you send with one exception: Please do not share your cartoon ideas. As an editorial cartoonist, every original cartoon I publish must spring from within my own little mind, though I appreciate your good wishes, complaints, concerns about issues, or opinions about politicians who seem to make a mess of everything. I try to keep my finger on the pulse of America, but they keep filing restraining orders against me but I would love to hear what’s on your mind? What can I do better, and no I’m not going to hire ANOTHER editorial cartoonist… Let us know in the comments or by emailing us at ramireztoons@gmail.com.

WWIII seems to be getting closer and closer.
