NASA"S DART mission proved it could deflect objects that threaten the earth. —Michael

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your get-well wishes and kind letters of encouragement during this difficult time. Your words buoyed me when I needed them most. I’m happy to report I’m feeling better this week and expect to recover completely. I’m so grateful for your love and support.

It's been a heck of a week...

A tale of stones in both kidneys, massive nausea for a week from Percocet, a kidney stone getting stuck, infection, an allergic reaction to the medication, 102 plus fevers, cold showers, debilitating pain, low blood pressure, and two trips to the ER...

I don't know if you have ever had a kidney stone but it is probably the most painful thing I've experienced... twice. I don't recommend it to anyone. I still feel like Rocky Balboa worked over my right kidney.

Lesson: super hydrate.

We had a few extreme heat warning days out here in southern California last week, so I planned my usual 5-mile run for the early morning hours. Although I drank plenty of water, it became very hot much faster than I had expected, and dehydration set everything in motion.

Of course, all this is nothing compared to what people are suffering from in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. May God give them comfort and keep them safe. Please keep all those folks in your heart and prayers.

Thank you again for all your patience, well wishes, and letters. You are the best!

Now, let's get back to fixing the world.

Love and best wishes,

-m
