Editor’s Note: There’s nothing like actually knowing some leftists to completely put you off of them, both philosophically and as people. They preach kindness while being some of the meanest and most intolerant human beings I’ve ever met. They are easily outed as hypocrites on almost every issue, and have childish ideas of how they think the world should be while doing very little to personally move things that way. Leftists have one really redeeming quality, though, and it’s that they don’t vote.

In the last election, liberals and democrats turned out for Kamala Harris. Progressive leftists, conversely, didn’t consider her extreme enough in her views. They were disgusted that she at least paid lip service to supporting Israel, that she wasn’t louder about her support for gender ideology, that she played it relatively safe when it came to her plans for the economy when (I suppose) she should have been promising full-on socialism in the United States just to please them.

For much of America, Kamala Harris was already too far left, enough for them to abstain from voting or cast their ballot for a historically divisive candidate. It’s astonishing that democrats haven’t figured this out, and are instead swinging further into left field to try to appeal to a demographic that didn’t vote for them, and never will. Leftists’ purity spirals forbid them from ever accepting even a semi-moderate position. Why aren’t democrats courting the independent constituents who might actually swing their way by checking themselves on runaway “progressive” policies?
