Michael Ramirez: No More Nonsense: America Wants a Reagan Revolution
From America's Premier Editorial Cartoonist
Michael Ramirez, June 25, 2023
I remember reading somewhere during the Covid pandemic that the U.S. had 4% of the population but 25% of the coronavirus cases. That seemed hard to believe at the time, but given the nature of our modern society, the density of some of our cities and towns, the relative ease of daily interaction between people, and our high per capita income status (the U.S. is number 7 in the world which makes transportation affordable and shopping practicable), it makes sense.
It made me think of other comparisons.
Like why, with a population of 331.9 million people can’t we have better quality and more intelligent people representing us in Congress? There are only 535 of them. You would think with the pool of millions of Americans to select from, the choices would be better. The average American must certainly be smarter and more mature than the nitwits in Congress that make headlines every week.
America needs to do better in selecting its representatives. Maybe, we just need better guidelines.
I was telling a friend of mine that we should look at Disneyland and the height limitations for their rides and apply it to the political arena. At the entrance of the Indiana Jones ride, they have a sign that reads:
“You have to be at least this high to ride this ride.”
They ought to have similar signs at the entrance of our Capitol building that read:
“Your I.Q. has to be at least this high to enter politics.”
We need to double the number of signs for the White House.
The United States is the third most populous country in the world (not counting the European Union, because it is not a country) and the two knuckleheads running for President of the United States, who are leading their respective primaries, are the best America can do? Seriously…?
That’s Pathetic.
Recent polls have shown that a majority of Americans don’t want either Biden or Trump to run in 2024. Both candidates have higher unfavorable views than favorable views. More Americans dislike BOTH candidates than like them. That is just sad.
With Biden’s dwindling numbers, this election should be a walk in the park for any GOP candidate. America is screaming for another Reagan Revolution.
America wants change. They don’t want moderation. What they really want is Reagan conservatism.
They are tired of Wokeness, identity politics, crime, forcing fringe extremism on everyone, and the erosion of constitutional liberties.
Polls indicate that America would settle for just about anyone other than Joe Biden for President… Anyone, except Donald Trump.
In a head-to-head matchup, Trump still loses to Joe Biden. That seems hard to believe when you look at the current administration’s disastrous record, but when you look at the true nature of the candidates, it makes sense.
Neither one is a true conservative.
Neither seems to have respect for the Constitution.
Neither seems to know how to build a wall.
Neither seems to understand free market economics.
Neither one knows what fiscal responsibility means.
Both have questionable ethics.
Both seem to constantly trip over themselves.
Both will be older than Ronald Reagan was when he left office when they enter office.
Both have questionable mental fitness.
And both are deeply embroiled in controversy.
Every time Biden stumbles or misspeaks, Democrats start to panic.
Every time Trump speaks, the down-the-ballot numbers for all other Republican candidates start to hemorrhage. Welcome to Red Wave Part II.
With Biden at the helm, America has to consider what a Kamala Harris Administration will be like.
With Trump at the helm, that walk in the park becomes a walk in the park… in the middle of the night… in the middle of the worst neighborhood in Chicago or San Francisco.
Why take the chance?
The good news is, it’s still a long way to November 2024. Make good choices people.

Logical, honest, talented. Michael Ramirez for President!
"...why, with a population of 331.9 million people can’t we have better quality and more intelligent people representing us in Congress?"
Because elections aren't about electing representatives, they're about who can raise the most $$$$ in contributions along with 'likes' on F*book fer crisesakes!
They're a popularity contest, just like it was in 8th grade homeroom! Besides that, why would any moral, ethical person want to run for office when the media scrutiny on every single episode in their lifetime gets measured against today's most popular biases as a yardstick?
Gimme a break Michael! You're an intelligent, talented artist! You already know the answer to your question, don'tcha?
