Michael Ramirez: Messozoic Era 3-13-25
From America's Premier Editorial Cartoonist
Two doses of the Measles vaccine is 97% effective. -Michael
Editor’s Note: It’s been a bumpy decade or so for Americans’ collective trust in the government and healthcare, and after a tumultuous pandemic and polarizing politics, it’s not difficult to understand why. But overcorrection to the point of erasing past wisdom is not the answer.
When I was growing up during George W. Bush’s administrations, the people I knew who refused vaccines for their children were on the far left. They had no trust in the government. They had no trust in healthcare. Many believed that they knew better than their doctors because of something they read, or they had a child with autism and wanted to hold someone accountable. And, yes, their children were always sick.
Michael told me something today that resonated. He said, “The answers are all out there. The truth is there. You have to want to find it… instead of reading stuff that will merely reinforce your position or allowing algorithms to lead you to your leanings instead of toward the truth. I always say in my speeches… if you firmly believe in something, then read the opposite. Most of the time it will reaffirm your choices but every once in awhile, it may change your mind. There is an evolution of thought. Either way you’ll see the whole picture and be a lot closer to the truth.”
I challenge our audience to read something today that is the opposite of your viewpoint on an issue near and dear to your heart. If we all open our minds to more information instead of throttling the flow, we can evolve to better pursue the truth.

Thank you for supporting Michael’s editorial cartooning and writing at this great independent space. And thank you, most of all, for standing up for free speech and truth, both of which are under attack everywhere.
We’ll see you soon with more of Michael’s work, and as always, let us know what you think in the comments, or drop us a line at ramireztoons@gmail.com
As you can imagine, we receive many emails, and Michael reads everything you send with one exception: I regret that I cannot share your cartoon ideas. As an editorial artist, every original cartoon he publishes must spring from within his mind, though I will happily forward your good wishes, complaints, concerns about issues, or opinions about politicians who seem to make a mess of everything. Michael tries to keep his finger on the pulse of America, so what’s on your mind? What can we do better? Let us know in the comments or by emailing the editor, Bree Lindquist, at breelinguist@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you and will do our best to respond soon.
Best,
Melissa Praemonitus (personal manager for Michael P. Ramirez)
