Liberal sentencing reforms and progressive prosecutors adopting woke policies that reduce prosecutions have led to an explosion of crime and waves of “smash and grab” robberies.

Today’s cartoon makes explicit the cost of lawless reforms that San Francisco D.A. Chesa Boudin (raised by Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn!) supports. By promising not to prosecute so-called “victimless crimes” like prostitution and drug dealing, and encouraging a sizable decrease in arrests and prosecution of shoplifting and petty theft, Boudin is responsible for an uptick in employment for private security guards and strong support for a recall scheduled for next June.
