Ground Control to Elon Musk

If the current left wing is characterized by petulance, division, and choosing unpopular hills to die on, the current right wing is characterized by larger-than-life juggernauts.
You don’t have to like Elon Musk. You don’t have to admire his attitudes or approaches in his personal life. You can (and should) be skeptical about how much power he wields through the president without being either American or elected. But I believe that you can divide the country neatly in half right now. On one side are the people who bend over backward to justify domestic eco-terrorism and hyper-analyze Musk’s gestures for incriminating evidence. On the other are the individuals who, just maybe, can admit that Musk did an objectively great thing by bringing home those stranded astronauts, even if his posts on X can be cringey at times.
