Term limits for elected officials is meaningless when there is a permanent bureaucracy. A better solution is removing public service unions and instituting a law that NOBODY can draw a government paycheck for more than 25 years which would include time spent as an elected official, in the military and in civilian government employ. On a nation of 330M we can afford to churn the employment pot...

Your idea might work for low level employees, but makes no sense for employees with high levels of expertise. Why terminate, say, a VA psychiatrist who has great success treating veterans with PTSD? An FBI agent who is excellent at uncovering bank fraud? A federal prosecutor who wins all his cases against drug dealers and terrorists? A scientist with a great track record of developing medications that treat infectious diseases? Etc., etc.

Because after 25 years, it’s enough. 330M people, there’s somebody as good, or better, than anybody. Otherwise you end up with Fauci or Birx. NOBODY is irreplaceable...

Your idea is based on mindless anti-government ideology. Changing senior officials - the policy makers - after they have been in power for many years may have merit, but no organization can easily replace expertise in lower ranks. Why replace a great orthopedic surgeon at the VA who does his work in an apolitical way? What sense does that make?
