Editor’s Note: I’ve gotten feedback from some of our wonderful readers that they are in favor of Trump’s tariffs, trusting that any sacrifice we make in the short term will be worth it in the long run. I sincerely hope that this is the case. In the meantime we should not delude ourselves that tariffs represent an increase in prices that may hit some American homes hard, and in some areas (like the auto industry) it will be nearly impossible to “buy American” to avoid those price hikes.
