Editor’s Note: The soft power of international outreach and development is not inherently a bad thing for a country like the United States to have. While some have ridiculed USAID projects like a Sesame Street-style show in Iraq, I don’t actually think that addressing education and poverty in developing countries is the worst possible way this funding could be used. What I do take issue with is the obviously partisan or ideologically-driven projects that not only do nothing material to help people in these countries, but might actually reflect badly on the nation offering the aid in the first place. As voter demographics in the United States continue to shift, with younger voters becoming more conservative and the Democrats obstinately continuing to move further left and double down on their most unpopular policies, should transgender operas and DEI musicals really be a priority in fostering connection and spreading influence to other countries?

Thank you for supporting Michael’s editorial cartooning and writing at this great independent space. And thank you, most of all, for standing up for free speech and truth, both of which are under attack everywhere.
We’ll see you soon with more of Michael’s work, and as always, let us know what you think in the comments, or drop us a line at ramireztoons@gmail.com
As you can imagine, we receive many emails, and Michael reads everything you send with one exception: I regret that I cannot share your cartoon ideas. As an editorial artist, every original cartoon he publishes must spring from within his mind, though I will happily forward your good wishes, complaints, concerns about issues, or opinions about politicians who seem to make a mess of everything. Michael tries to keep his finger on the pulse of America, so what’s on your mind? What can we do better? Let us know in the comments or by email. We would love to hear from you and will do our best to respond soon.
Best,
Melissa Praemonitus (editor and personal manager for Michael P. Ramirez)
