Michael Ramirez: Bottom of the Cracker Barrel 8-27-25
From America's Premier Editorial Cartoonist
The bottom of the cracker barrel. -Michael
Editor’s Note: If the left has a brand these days, you might as well call it “ruining a good thing.” You can be a completely tolerant person, even a loving and accepting one. You can still resent it when a company decides for you that the product you enjoy isn’t woke enough. Bud Light drinkers don’t really want Dylan Mulvaney leering at them. Target shoppers don’t really want to walk their kids past girls swimsuits meant to “tuck” a male appendage. And people who eat at Cracker Barrel don’t want their happy little guy, who may well be straight, white, and male, vanished from a warm and comforting logo.
I’m all for diversity and inclusion. I love it! But was that ever a problem at Cracker Barrel, really? It’s a beautiful place to have Sunday morning brunch, and especially after church, I’ve never seen a shortage of all kinds of families. The idea that a mascot represents a target demographic is as silly as believing that McDonalds is food for clowns, or that Wendys sells burgers exclusively to girls with red pigtails.
Is the problem actually that Cracker Barrel represents the wholesome, simple experience of sharing a meal and a conversation with a loving community of friends and family? If so… why is that a problem?

Thank you for supporting Michael’s editorial cartooning and writing at this great independent space. And thank you, most of all, for standing up for free speech and truth, both of which are under attack everywhere.
We’ll see you soon with more of Michael’s work, and as always, let us know what you think in the comments, or drop us a line at ramireztoons@gmail.com
As you can imagine, we receive many emails, and Michael reads everything you send with one exception: I regret that I cannot share your cartoon ideas. As an editorial artist, every original cartoon he publishes must spring from within his mind, though I will happily forward your good wishes, complaints, concerns about issues, or opinions about politicians who seem to make a mess of everything. Michael tries to keep his finger on the pulse of America, so what’s on your mind? What can we do better? Let us know in the comments or by emailing the editor, Bree Lindquist, at breelinguist@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you and will do our best to respond soon.
Best,
Melissa Praemonitus (personal manager for Michael P. Ramirez)
