Michael Ramirez: AOCrash and Bernie 3-27-25
From America's Premier Editorial Cartoonist
The Bernie Sanders AOC Insanity tour. - Michael
Editor’s Note: Michael’s note accompanying the cartoon today is that “doing the same thing over and over is the definition of insanity.” To get more specific, it’s doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, and the democrats continue to flail, fumble, and double down on their least popular far-left positions seeming to expect that this time, they’ll start winning. What better mascots for the far left than Bernie Sanders and AOC? What worse way to show constituents that the democratic party is finally coming to their senses and rejoining reality?
As a former democrat and currently-identified independent, I am not beholden or loyal to either “side.” I’m interested in learning the truth about issues and individuals, whether or not it’s convenient for my position. I can (and have) changed my position if I’m presented with new evidence. Some democrats are in fact capable of this; yesterday, I wrote a letter to a young New Hampshire legislator, a democrat who pushed back against the inexplicably stubborn orthodoxy of his own party by voting for a bill that allows certain spaces to remain single-sex in limited circumstances. Enduring untold abuse from other democrats in a struggle session, Jonah Wheeler stood by his reasoned principles and convictions about women’s rights, saying he sleeps just fine at night after voting with his conscience.
Why was this so moving, fresh, and impressive? Perhaps it’s because the democratic party has been sorely missing reasoned principles and conviction, exchanging them for high emotion and self-righteous, blind rage. They’re more party-poopers than a proper party, sucking the fun out of the room just for the thrill of calling others problematic. They take an assumed moral upper ground sorely for granted. They align themselves with positions that make sense only to the very elite and wealthy, while excoriating and insulting anyone who disagrees.
The writing is on the wall. They lost the election. If they keep massing on their most reasonable voices like frenzied zombies out for blood, they will just keep losing.

Thank you for supporting Michael’s editorial cartooning and writing at this great independent space. And thank you, most of all, for standing up for free speech and truth, both of which are under attack everywhere.
We’ll see you soon with more of Michael’s work, and as always, let us know what you think in the comments, or drop us a line at ramireztoons@gmail.com
As you can imagine, we receive many emails, and Michael reads everything you send with one exception: I regret that I cannot share your cartoon ideas. As an editorial artist, every original cartoon he publishes must spring from within his mind, though I will happily forward your good wishes, complaints, concerns about issues, or opinions about politicians who seem to make a mess of everything. Michael tries to keep his finger on the pulse of America, so what’s on your mind? What can we do better? Let us know in the comments or by emailing the editor, Bree Lindquist, at breelinguist@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you and will do our best to respond soon.
Best,

Bree, we were talking just this morning about this mindset situation that is causing so much trouble across our land. Our conclusion was...it's best to keep an open mind, and listen to what other people have to say. It doesn't mean you have to abandon your beliefs, but what if your beliefs aren't accurate, or are wrong? it is helpful to see both sides, so you don't end up being a "stick in the mud".
